This villa property is a 400+ year old stone cottage, with modernised amenities and a wild garden, in a quiet but spectacular setting with a view to the sea, on a hill overlooking the bay of Korthi. When we disembark from the ship we take the only road to the capital Chora. After about 20 kilometers we meet the Ormos Korthiou sign on our right, we follow this road and go down to Ormos which is on the sea, we will come across a round flowerbed with the Greek flag, we take the road on the left we pass in front of the supermarket, we go uphill and to the second village we come acrosse the sign Chones enter the village and immediately on the left there is a small parking here we arrived from below is the house. We go down the stairs to our left is a wooden external door which leads us to the courtyard of the house, it is on two levels at the bottom there is a large wooden table where we enjoy our breakfast and dinner from a spectacular view to the sea. Entering from the main entrance to our left is the master bedroom with its own bathroom, in front of us a small bedroom with a double bed and a small bed for children. Immediately to the right of the main entrance you will find a very large living room with a dining area and next to it the fully equipped kitchen with windows from the living room and kitchen to the sea. As soon as we enter the living room, on our left there is the staircase that leads to the lower floor. Going down we find a single room with a single bed and a door that opens out onto the garden. To our left is the second master bedroom with a double bed and its own bathroom, to the right is another bedroom with two single beds, in the single room as soon as we go down there is a small bathroom .Bed linen and body towels are changed once every 7 days of stay. Face towels are changed every 4 day Chones is a romantic village with a beautiful Byzantine church right next to the house, on steep terraced land leading to the bay, with stairs you can walk down (and up, if you’re fit). Korthi is in the south of the island with some of the best beaches, many sheltered from the wind. Walking is possible but a car is recommended! There’s lots of things to do! Take a 4x4 or hire a boat to go to even more beautiful deserted and secret beaches, hike to ancient monasteries, day trip to Chora with its world-famous art museum and annual exhibitions, visit the UNESCO world heritage site Syneti Gorge, walk the Dipotamata, take an adventurous drive to some of the most famous beaches in Europe, just a little further away -- you will never run out of things to do. Then come back and relax, have a shower, take a drink on the terrace overlooking the bay, make a delicious meal with local ingredients and eat with your friends under the stars. Afterwards, listen to the sounds of nature at night and the owls hooting gently on roof the historic church next door -- think about what a good idea it was to stay here!
