The region of West Mani includes many coastal villages of incomparable beauty. Among them are Agios Dimitrios and Trachila. Agios Dimitrios: It is a coastal settlement in the southeastern part of Messinia prefecture, on the eastern coast of the Messinian Gulf. It is located opposite the islet of Pefnos, at an average altitude of 10 m above sea level. It is about 50 km SE of Kalamata. With sightseeing the Tower of Christeas (who was the captain of the area of Platsa), the church of Agios Dimitrios, south of the settlement and the picturesque harbour of the settlement. Trachila: Beautiful coastal village, picturesque with absolute serene tranquility, which enchants visitors. Today it is mainly inhabited by retired people and in the summer they add immigrants returning to their hometown. It is 17 kilometres of coastal road and a wonderful route from Kardamili and 11 kilometres from Stoupa. The landmark of this place is the three-storey cave Katafyggi with magnificent decoration and huge columns of stalagmite material. There are findings that testify that the cave was inhabited. The two villages are connected by a provincial road, paved with asphalt and very easy access. On this road, a plot of land of 6,652.11 square meters is for sale with unobstructed views since it is located on an area with an inclination. It is outside the plan and outside the pre-1923 settlement boundaries, it is even and buildable in derogation of the existing urban planning provisions.
