This is the former bank branch located at the intersection of Ethnikis Antistasis & Ellis streets on OT 152 in Astakos, Municipality of Xiromeros, Etoloakarnania. It is located on the main road of Astakos, at the entrance to the settlement from the Messolonghi - Astakos highway and is located approximately 50m from the sea. The property has three interfaces, on National Resistance Street, on Elli Street and on a pedestrian street that is characterized as National Resistance Lane. The property is a two-storey building erected before 1923 and legalized according to building permit No. 257/1994 of the Prefecture of Etoloakarnania entitled "Legalization of a building before 1923, Restoration of Layout in an ATE store". The building has been classified as a 'work of art' according to the Ministry of Culture DILAP/G/1626/26097/12-7-1988 "Characterization as works of art of twenty-one (21) buildings in Astakos, Aitoloakarnania", Government Gazette 540B/1988 and is now under the jurisdiction of the Service of Modern Monuments and Technical Works of Western Greece, the Peloponnese and the Southern Ionian. It is a two-storey, stone-built building with strong neoclassical morphological elements. It is covered with a tiled, four-pitched roof made of Byzantine-style tiles. Of particular interest are the elaborate stone cladding on the facade, the balconies with marble balustrades and railings, the drawn frames and the arched openings.
