Location: Our guesthouse is located in Vlichada, a hamlet of Agia Marina, a less touristy area of the island of Aegina, about 12 km east of the island's main commercial port. Coming from Aegina's main port, you can stop at the Agios Nektarios Monastery. Upon arrival in Agia Marina, you can enjoy the many shops, cafes, and taverns. The island's iconic landmark is the Temple of Aphaia, located in Agia Marina. It was built around 480 BC. Along with the Panthenon on the Acropolis and the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, they formed a sacred triangle in ancient times. Our house is located nearby, 3.5 km from the port of Agia Maria, where only fast ferries from the Port of Piraeus depart. From this port, you can also embark for the islands of Hydra and Spetses. Our location is the ideal vacation spot for those seeking peace and quiet; there are barely a dozen houses next to each other. You will have access to the cove just behind the house and the small beach for swimming; from this cove, you will have the opportunity to take short, easy walks. Just below the house, there is also a tiny fishing port (micro limano) where you can also swim. Important: You will need to rent a means of transport if you want to visit the entire island. Getting Around: During the high season, the island of Aegina is very well served. It can be reached by ferry either from Piraeus or from Methana (eastern Peloponnese) if coming from the mainland. Aegina has three ports: Central Aegina to the west, Souvala to the north, and Agia Marina to the east. From Aegina, you can reach: - Piraeus Port - Methana Port - Agistri Island - Poros Island - Hydra Island, then a ferry connection to Spetses Island Our guesthouse is located on the easternmost tip of Aegina Island, in the Agia Marina district, served by buses and taxis if your ferry arrives at Souvala Port and Aegina Town. Ideally, you'll need a rental car to get around and explore this beautiful island. You can also rent quad bikes or electric bikes for the more adventurous.
