The superb view inspired the architect to create a modern home that overlooks the bay and Mykonos town to the north and tracks the sun from the moment it rises, follows it west over the “sacred” island of Delos until it sinks in the crimson horizon and the endless blue.
The villa is built along an east-west axis and its numerous large windows appear to replace the walls and provide optical diversions in all directions.
The sculptural image of the villa structure, with its curved surfaces discreetly hinting to tradition and gazing over the landscape’s stony hills gives an exquisite aesthetic result. The unassuming simplicity clashes with striking singularities: 45 cm-thick walls, ceilings formed of chestnut beams coated so as to highlight the grain of the wood, built-in curved bathrooms with stucco technique are only some of them.
Where the main building and the annex guestrooms merge, a sheltered “den” is formed, creating an outdoor lounge area with a large sliding glass veranda door offering stunning views of the bay and town of Mykonos. The main feature of the outdoor area is the 155m2 swimming pool with its unusual shape running along most of the length of the southern side of the villa. It has an invisible overflow slot and is equipped with jetstream. The material of the earth-colour terrace around the pool never gets hot under the summer sun, allowing for relaxed barefoot strolls.

Στην κορυφή ενός βραχώδους λόφου στη νοτιοδυτική ακτή της Μυκόνου, βρίσκεται αυτό το εντυπωσιακό ιδιωτικό κτήμα, χτισμένο σε απόλυτη αρμονία με το γύρω τοπίο. Η μοναδική τοποθεσία μετατρέπει τη βίλα σε «μπαλκόνι» με απεριόριστη θέα στον καταγάλανο ελληνικό ουρανό και το απέραντο γαλάζιο του Αιγαίου. Η υπέροχη θέα ενέπνευσε τον αρχιτέκτονα να δημιουργήσει ένα μοντέρνο σπίτι που βλέπει στον κόλπο και την πόλη της Μυκόνου προς τα βόρεια και παρακολουθεί τον ήλιο από τη στιγμή που ανατέλλει, τον ακολουθεί δυτικά πάνω από το «ιερό» νησί της Δήλου μέχρι να βυθιστεί στον κατακόκκινο ορίζοντα και το απέραντο γαλάζιο.
Η βίλα είναι χτισμένη κατά μήκος του άξονα Ανατολής-Δύσης και τα πολυάριθμα μεγάλα παράθυρά της φαίνεται να αντικαθιστούν τους τοίχους και να παρέχουν οπτικές εκτροπές προς όλες τις κατευθύνσεις.
Η γλυπτική εικόνα της δομής της βίλας, με τις καμπύλες επιφάνειές της να υπαινίσσονται διακριτικά την παράδοση και να αγναντεύουν τους πετρώδεις λόφους του τοπίου, δίνει ένα εξαίσιο αισθητικό αποτέλεσμα. Η λιτή απλότητα συγκρούεται με εντυπωσιακές ιδιομορφίες: τοίχοι πάχους 45 εκατοστών, οροφές από δοκούς καστανιάς επικαλυμμένες έτσι ώστε να αναδεικνύεται ο κόκκος του ξύλου, εντοιχισμένα καμπύλα μπάνια με τεχνική στόκου είναι μόνο μερικά από αυτά.
Εκεί που το κεντρικό κτίριο και τα δωμάτια του παραρτήματος συγχωνεύονται, σχηματίζεται ένα προστατευμένο «κρεβατάκι», δημιουργώντας ένα υπαίθριο σαλόνι με μεγάλη συρόμενη γυάλινη πόρτα βεράντας
